This is a very heavy stone statue depicting a winged mermaid (or a being or deity who is half fish, and has wings) nursing an infant.
I purchased her through eBay about 20 years ago, and sadly her history is lost to me.

This piece is a possible, bronze motherly Indonesian demon chaser sculpture, from early 20th century. this beautiful creature comes from Indonesian cosmological world of Dewi Sri goddess. These Magical Mobiles are believed by the Balinese to repel the mischievous nature spirits and demons that disturb humans and play tricks upon them, placed in a high spot to scare off and prevent these spirits from entering the home.
This is a rare piece, in very good condition and hand-carved.
