This is a bottle of authentic 1971 vintage Dom Perignon Champagne that was produced in Champagne, France. Although most people refer to all 'bubbly' as champagne, only sparkling wine produced in Champagne, France is permitted the true name designation of Champagne. Vintages years are not produced every single year. Vintages are only bottled when the crop and ability to produce the finest are deemed so by the local vintners. Vintage years are saved over time, however for one to be top dollar seller it must have been properly stored on its side and in a temperature controlled environment since that time.
