I have little information and haven't removed them from the frames to look at the backs. Not sure what they're made of. The cracks might suggest bone or some organic material.

These appear to be ivory and - depending on where you live - there may be some restrictions on whether or not you can legally sell them.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

A pair of religious relief carved ivory oval plaques
Continental, probably 19th Century but possibly earlier
One of a man (Peter denying Jesus) and a woman (Mary mourning Jesus), in molded black wood frames. Unmarked.
12.5 (approximately 5 inches) high by 10 cm (approximately 4 inches) wide, sight.
CONDITION: This pair of relief carved ivory plaques appears to be in good condition with some cracking commensurate to age.
PROVENANCE: Inherited
