What does this mean?

Dear Sarah,

Thank you for your help and your patience.

The presented object appears to be a marble or alabaster bust with measurements of 14 inches in height. The bust depicts a mother kissing her child probably a girl which is looking straight directly to the potential viewer. This emotionalized motif and the naturalistic style is common around 1900, especially in Italy but also in France. This bust was made by an unknown artist probably in Italy around 1900.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 700 to 1.400 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.

With kind regards,
Georg
