Considering the photographs, overall pattern, composition and the colours, I concluded that this is an Antique European Sword with an Animal Pommel. The piece can be categorised as a classical19th to early 20th century European Sword with influences from east on the floral details. The piece is likely German or French based on the design of the grip. Some early 20th century German naval officer swords are very much alike this piece but this one has less quality and craftsmanship to it which means it was a lower class piece in the civil or low class military sword. The piece's grip is twistedin design. The piece appear to be an original based on the shape and condition. The piece is in fair condition with signs of age and use as well as a missing scabbard as well as a broken rain guard.
