Considering the photographs, overall pattern, knot density and the colours, I concluded that this is an Entirely Hand Knotted Persian Nain Rug. The piece dates back to the period from 1980-2000. The piece is a contemporary Nain Rug reflecting the style of the late 20th century. Nain pieces are known for their silk foundations and pale blue, ivory colour tones with white highlights that create a three dimensional apperance on the rug. The piece is centrally decorated with a central medallion, entirely florally decorated as well as the rest of the composition. The central area of the piece was knotted on an ivory coloured base as well as the borders. The piece's knot quality is one of the most important parts which is a signature feature of Nain pieces. The knot density is quite high, likely up to 300 KPSI. Hence, the motifs of the piece were rendered in high quality and clearly. Wool on silk. The piece is in good condition without visible problems.
