The item presented appears to be a gouache painting on fabric depicting a floral still life focusing on a cotton rose. The work appears to be in the manner of Li Di (active circa 1163-1197), who was a court artist during the Song Dynasty. However, the work presented here appears to date to the early to mid 20th century. Items similar to this were very popular during that time for export. Unfortunately, we are unable to translate the inscription. However, these inscriptions are typically poems relating to the depiction. The estimate provided is based on recent auction estimates and results of other comparable objects with similar depictions and size. The estimate is contingent on a full condition report.
