What does this mean?

Hi Jennifer,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Noritake was one of the most popular - and comparatively affordable - dinner services in the mid 20th century; sadly, there is a tremendous amount of it on the market today and even though individual pieces can be fairly costly new, older sets retain a fraction of their original value...with larger sets (more than 100 pcs) bringing a higher per/piece cost.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

A vintage 79-piece Noritake silver gilt porcelain part dinner service for 12
in the Pinetta pattern, made in Japan, bearing the backstamp in use from 1953, comprising
12 Dinner plates
12 salad plates
12 small plates (probably for bread and butter)
12 bowls
12 coffee cups with 12 saucers
1 large serving platter
1 large serving bowl
1 gravy ladle
1 cream pitcher
1 sugar bowl
1 small serving bowl
1 small serving platter
CONDITION: appears to be in very good condition with little use; value assumes no chips, cracks, losses or repairs
PROVENANCE: inherited from original owner
$250-350 for the set*
