Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. Based on the photographs and description provided, the subject of this appraisal is a Martin Handcraft Imperial trumpet, circa 1937.

According to the current owner, the piece was acquired via estate sale. The piece features a serial number of 121646. The piece's composition is brass and includes what appears to be its original case. The condition of the piece is assumed good with no dents or dings noted in the photographs examined and some presumably original lacquer left. Playing condition of the piece is unknown but for appraisal purposes is assumed to be in working order.

Based on recent sales of similar era Martin Imperial trumpets from the era on second-hand resellers such as Reverb.com, a Fair Market Value (pre-auction estimate) of this piece would be estimated at $750 to $1,000.
