1800-1899 Carved Lions Head with Serpent Arms Vatican reproduction piece possibly Baker? 43” high; 18” floor to seat; 27” tapers to 17” seat; arms 27” from floor. High end upholstery fabric just refinished in 2019. Purchased 1983 by Greenbaum Interiors now located in Morristown NJ) where we bought many Baker estate pieces. Some work to repair Eagle arms Lions nose quoted at $175 by Greenbaum. Incredibly carved detail serpent head arms center with elaborate detail on arms; Lions Head Legs with Lions Paw feet. Stately piece in your home and quite comfortable seating as well.
Nobody owned prior to my knowledge. We bought in 1983. It’s been reupholstered 2x since.

I'm not aware of a line by Baker that was this elaborate; unfortunately, with just one chair, there would likely be
a limited market. the condition also looks to be stripped or sunfaded.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A Georgian style carved fruitwood lolling armchair
unattributed maker, possibly Baker, mid 20th Century
With arched crest, the back flanked by serpentine arms carved with eagles heads, raised on acanthus carved serpentine supports, the cabriole legs headed by lion's heads and terminating in paw feet; upholstered in a high-end upholstery fabric.
overall height 43 inches; seat height 18 inches; width 27 inches at front
CONDITION: reupolstered twice; with repairs to eagle and lion heads; sunfaded and surface possibly stripped.
