Description from user:

This is a London Armoury Pattern 1853 musket. The London Armoury Co. (1856-1866) was a British manufacturer that made muskets for the British War Department, and also for export to the Confederacy during the American Civil War. This example was likely exported to the Confederacy, and would have been imported and passed the Union blockade to make it into service with the Confederacy. These rifles were highly regarded by the soldiers that used them. This particular piece is in overall good condition. Most of its original finish has been replaced by a dark patina, but it is relatively stable. The stock and accessories all appear to be intact, and exhibit no significant damage. Given the condition of this piece, and completed auctions of similar items, a fair market estimation is 2,800-3,000 dollars.
