What does this mean?

Dear Jacqueline,

Basically MAITLAND-SMITH LTD is making its own line of products based on traditional Chinese items from 18th century. All patterns on your screen including the form is made in classic way of Chinese panel making. I believe sice it was based in Hongkong it ws also using Chinese workers and studio's but they decided what should be made. Orientation was on quality and western taste. Most products were quite expensive and placed in high end market. Its a little bit difficult to say what your room divider is worth. Antique hand painted panels and room dividers are quite expensive but since it not 100% traditional Asian art I believe the market price should stay behind on the original pieces from China. Also the fact its not an antique doesn't help. I believe my estimation for the piece is fair. You should consider, if you would like to sell to bring it in auction with some good tradition in selling Asian art.
