What does this mean?

Dear Rhonda,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry again and I hope you are well.

The presented object appears to be a lamp with a mounted ceramic or porcelain vase with measurements of 34 inches in height. The vase has a typical decor of the Japanese Arita porcelain. The decor is partly handpainted and partly made in a transferware procedure.
It was common to mount older and imported vases as lamps since the late 19th century.
In this case, the vase was made in the 20th century and was mounted in a second step.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 100 to 200 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.

With kind regards,
Georg
