I have 17 photos of 38 very fine pcs of monogrammed, etched, hallmarked, embossed, turn-of-the-century, historic, German Silverware to get appraised. My father, was a US Army, Private-First-Class-Rifleman, ‘Allied-Liberator’ during WWII 1943- 1945. One of the treasures he came upon was an mixed collection of silverware. Could the collection have come from Hitler or even Von Hindenburg, the WW1 Commander in Austro-Prussian War who was later the President of Germany until Adolph Hitler came to power. This may explain that this silverware looks like a 1920’s ornate/presidential rather than 1940’s more plain/third reich. My father managed to grab a large collection of these ‘VH’ Monogrammed silverware pcs. He did not get all the collection, so he ‘shot dice’ on the liberty ship on his way home to ‘win back’ the rest of these pieces shown. For the past 78 years, they have been living in an 1880’s, ornate French China Cabinet. The patina’d pieces are in excellent condition. Please respond if you have an interest? I would look forward to an offer to purchase them outright, but would inquire the steps/time involved to list them on consignment. Can you refer me to collectors or antique silver dealers? The hallmarks on the backs are a carrot to the left, 800 ( 80%) silver in the midst of a “cres” (crescent) and a crown to the right. This is one of the same silversmiths that Hitler used.

The mark (torch, 800, crown and crescent moon) are the marks for Bremer Silberwarenfabrik, in Bremen, which made silver from 1905-1981. The pattern is very ornate, much more ornate than those I've found as having been used even by the highest level of the Third Reich; I also can not find any flatware services belonging to Von Hindenburg to compare this to, or if that is his monogram.
Mearto does not purchase lots outright but we work with auction houses around the world on behalf of sellers; you would be well served - on the very slim chance that this does have a connection with the Nazi regime - to work with a German auction house that has a history of selling Nazi memorabilia and the connections with the buyers of those collecting pieces.
My value is based upon heavy German silver flatware patterns of similar size and quality selling at auction in recent years; it is not based on any connection to the Nazis.
