The item presented appears to be a beautiful landscape painting by the English artist Henry Ashby Binckes (c. 1825-1893). This oil on canvas measures 20' (h) x 30" (w) and is signed on the lower right. The reverse reads the title of the work, "Figures in landscape". According to the information provided, it was purchased by your father in 1965. It is housed in an intricate gilt frame, and the condition is excellent overall.
