This rocking chair came out of my mom’s house. The chair is very tight (not wobbly). No sure what it is wood it is.

A Federal style ebonized and floral hand-painted rocking side chair
American; chair late 18th Century; paint decoration probably mid 19th Century
The chair with squared and stepped back and panel splat over a trapezoidal slip seat, raised on square section straight legs on rockers. With a later black-painted surface and floral decoration; the seat upholstered in a floral printed cloth.
Overall height 28 inches; Rockers 28-1/2 inches long
CONDITION: This chair appears to be in generally good condition; value assumes no breaks or repairs.
