What does this mean?

Unauthenticated Semi- Fossil
Southwestern United States
Unknown age
The general shape and appearance of a mammalian tibia bone. Moore specifically the condyles and epiphysis section, of an unknown period or species. The bone is in a semi-fossil state with heavy wear from water submersion. More specific information as to its collection information, exactly where it was found, and in what surrounding matrix will assist in identifying age and if the specimen. If an in-person evaluation can more closely access the animal and time. It is possible this could be an older bovine remnant; but could be of a fragment from a washed away ice age animal remain. Measurements 3 5/8 inch length x 3 1/2 inch width. Dependent on the age of the specimen and animal identified- a higher valuation could reach $300.00. I suggest that, when you have time, you take your item to a regional natural science museum or university department. Your local library may also be able to connect you with resources; sometimes these organizations will host specialist days for in-person assessment.
