What does this mean?

Hi Jessica,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Hard to say if this is antelope without scientific analysis but if there are any protected species it's better to simply say "hide"
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

Two handmade African export hide-covered wooden drums
mid-late 20th Century
both of circular section, one with raffia binding, one with hide loop handle
one 16 inches diameter, the other 10 inches diameter
CONDITION: generally appear to be in good condition with some wear - including splitting - to both from age and use.
PROVENANCE: acquired overseas
$150-200 for the two together*
