What does this mean?

Hi Gary,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The X mark on the back looks vaguely like the Meissen mark, though I've not been able to find any comparable examples of this.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

A MidCentury Modern 1958 Brussels Worlds Fair Souvenir Ashtray
Meissen style, circa 1958
With blue glaze to the top and in bisque on the back, in the form of the country of Brussels, marked BRUXELLES / BRUSSEL / 1958 to the front and impressed X mark on the reverse.
1 inch high by 7 1/2 by 6 inches
CONDITION: in good condition with little evidence of use wear
PROVENANCE: inherited
