It is a lovely diamond and yellow gold ring. Such vintage jewllery are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
The ring has a lovely design that is both elegant and trendy, according to your description and the design it was made in Italy in the 1960s. However without knowing the size, clarity and colour of the 17 diamonds it is hard to tell the exact total carat weight of the ring which is of importance when appraising diamond rings. I presume that the diamonds amount to circa 1,5 in total carat weight. If it is less the appraisal will decrease if it is more the appraisal will increase.
I believe that the lovely ring would attract the attention of both collectors and dealers if it came up for auction.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online jewellery auction, where I believe the diamond and gold has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the ring. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
