There are many reasons why you might want to know how much your art, antique or collectible item is worth... from simply satisfying your curiosity to having information valuable for tax or insurance purposes. At Mearto, our focus is on providing online appraisals to help customers sell their items at auction.
Our solution is fast, convenient and affordable. We also offer an unbiased valuation. Knowing the true fair market value of the item that you want to sell can help you negotiate better consignment terms with auction houses.
Our online appraisal includes a brief description of your item and two values. The fair market value is expressed as a range (a minimum and maximum estimate) and is what you could reasonably expect to sell your item for at auction. We get this range by analyzing recent auction results for items comparable to yours.
As a courtesy, we also provide an automatically calculated insurance value. Learn more about the difference between a fair market value and an insurance value HERE.
All you have to do is submit some images and information about your item with our easy-to-use online form. Please be as detailed as possible in your description of the item. The entire submission process takes about 5 minutes.
Once you’ve submitted an item to us, a specialist reviews it and typicallyresponds within 48 hours. You will receive an email notification when your online appraisal is complete. If you have questions, you can communicate directly with the specialist who provided your online appraisal through our platform.
